Map Have you ever wonder where your email goes just to get to the person next to you!

A wireless router is a network device that routes IP traffic across several wireless IP networks and wired networks http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wireless_router What's the internet, it's lot's of computers connected together using a common format.

Have you ever noticed other wireless networks in your area? Manage-wireless-network
Sometimes I can see three or four wireless networks at home, but at work I see ten or fifteen wireless networks.traceroute

Have you ever used tracert to trace how a packet of internet stuff is sent, some go international on the way to on the way to someone in another state, and across the country to get to someone in the same city.

Why well that's how the internet works, a packet of information has the address were it's going in the header and routers direct it via the quickest way. See http://computer.howstuffworks.com/internet-infrastructure.htm

This is a great read. But now I'm left wondering why my laptop computer with it own wireless network card cannot be a internet routers like all the hard wired routers on the net.Wirelessadapter

Imagine how much bigger the internet would be over night if every wireless internet card had a built in router. I would also at a guess say a lot of traffic would in my case goes straight through the walls and floors to the my clients down the hall or over the road.

I would also say the reason this hasn't happen is either no one thought of it, likely not! More like how much ISP would suffer when they become almost redundent over night. And conserns about band, cpu usage and security with over the wireless could be solved with only allowing internet protcole, the more I think about this, all these issues have already been solved in the routers that live now on the net.
