Is your site prepared to show content in this situation or will it give the user a 404 ("page not found" error)?

Running this demo in debug mode

To run this demo in debug mode is a simple process of pressing the "Run Debugging" link button to turn on Debugging.

Running in Debug mode give you the capability to see what happening to each URL's redirect. Instead to going to the page you see a report of where you would have been sent!

A cookie will be written to your browser allowing this browser to see the report only.
The cookie will last for 15 minutes
The debug MSG will change to display "Debugging will end at " and the time

Making some short URL redirects

Using the module enter http://www.optx.com.au/ into the Redirect URL and add on the end something like http://www.optx.com.au/abc

Now select or type in where you want this URL to be sent http://www.optx.com.au/Home/tabid/36/Default.aspx our home page in this case, but the page doesn't need to be on your site, e.g. http://www.google.com.au/

$Why add a custom URL. A custom URL will give you the ability to create dedicated URL’s that forward the user to a set page or even another site. This is the first place that will be searched to see if any incoming URL match up to the ones on the list on the left, if they do they will be redirected straight to the redirect URL on the right. Enter the URL you want to have redirected into the box under the Label "Redirect URL". This must be a valid URL/Website address e.g. http://www.mysite.com/ Being a valid URL means on special characters in the URL. You can add subfolders on the end e.g. http://www.mysite.com/product_a URL's don't need to be any peculiar format, they can be any number or letter. e.g. http://www.mysite.com/a or http://www.mysite.com/123 The URL you enter must unique and not already in the list of incoming URL's. Then either select the URL or enter the URL where you want them to be sent too. If you enter a URL it must be valid and follow these rules This must be a valid URL e.g. http://www.mysite.com/ Being a valid URL means on special characters in the URL. This URL doesn't need to be a URL on your site. If you are running this on your local website you will need to manually add your URL to the xml file in DesktopModules\Optx_URLSearch folder name like <<PortalID>>_Custom404Error.xml. If no xml file exists add any URL in and press add, and then you will find a xml file located in the DesktopModules\Optx_URLSearch folder$ How to add a URL Redirect.

Incoming URL is the URL that is sent to your site that doesn't exists
The redirect to URL is a URL on your site or another site where the user will be
taken too.
To remove/delete a URL click the delete button and the URL will be deleted.

The cookie will last for 15 minutes unless changed in the Custom404ErrorAdmin.ascx.resx
